Is there a delete topic option?! Lol, I posted this BEFORE double checking one of the stories behind my view. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monsanto_Canada_Inc._v._Schmeiser Although I think I still agree, I'm less sure. My problem was with thinking Schmeiser had been sued simply for allowing cross-pollinated crop to grow on his land, whereas he may have (knowingly or not) actually planted seed from the cross pollinated plants too. My problem is entirely with the idea that it may be possible to sue people for a normal part of mature - cross pollination between fields. Having read the wiki article on it, however, it sounds like that's not quite what happened...

@Thelevellers: It is really amazing. You are bent on corporations. You seem to hate anything that has anything to do with corporations. Did you find pee in your corn flakes or something?

@DigitalBoss: Lol, I'm afraid 'you're bent' means 'you're gay' over here, can't help but be amused! Seriously though: I have a problem with people or 'entities' which are primarily governed by money. Simple. I don't trust 'em. And the vast majority of the time I see my distrust entirely appropriate, as I see corporations dodging tax, fucking over the little man, bribing governments and dictators, and generally acting like they own the place. I have no reason to like them. Obviously, I do work for one, but I would far rather rewind to pre-mega-corp days when there were hundreds of smaller engineering firms, as I would be far happier in a smaller set-up. Sadly there just isn't room for the little man any more, as corporations have far too much power to crush them as they see fit. So yeah, I have a serious problem with corporations ,but not for anything they have directly done to me: My problem is with all the shit they done to other people and places.

@Thelevellers: The problem I see with corporations is governemnt meddling! If the government favours one over another, by way of subsidies perhaps? That tilts the table! That's why there are fucking huge corporations. If there was a level playing field, where all businesses had to play fair by paying taxes and not relying on corrupt politicians, then perhaps things would be better.

@Steve: I can agree with that view, Steve. However, there needs to be a certain amount of government meddling, to avoid situations like the whole BSkyB thing. But then I guess that wouldn;t be an issue if it weren't for those pesky kids corrupt politicians!

Capitalism should not be equivalent to corporatism. Once a corporation is big enough, it takes the free out of free market. Corporatism is Feudalism 2.0
