Notice that the article mentions Rand had received Social Security and Medicare, which are funded by taxes that I am sure Rand must have paid. I expect to draw Social Security myself when I retire in a few years. I paid into it for 35 years now. I would have much rather had my money in a private account earning interest and dividends, that would be inheritable by my children when I die, and that would not be a Ponzi scheme like Social Security. What I detest, is when someone pays no taxes, does not even try to work to support themselves, and does everything that they can to get and stay on Welfare. We have millions of them here. That is taking taking money from productive people and giving it away to non-productive people, or redistributing wealth.
