Best sort of spelling reform there is - no silent ph's, no inconsistent spellings, and none of this skon/skohn nonsense :p

But our spelling is what makes us Brits awesome! :O I like having to know stupid speeling rules/exceptions to get it all right... It's about all I can definitely feel smart at! :(

Phonetic spelling would be a nightmare for English where there are numerous examples of different words which have the same sound. The IPA itself is also horrible, as it's very difficult to decipher in its current form (I've yet to make good use of it despite its extensive use on Wikipedia).

Spanish is very close to phonetic writing, but I've seen the email where the rules get simplified and the writing gets truly phonetic.. Although sensible, it is horrible. It would be a massively horrible change. On the bright side, you kill most of the unfunny puns.
