Back in SB I made an opinion about microwaved food being healthy. the general consensus was that as long as you cook healthy things, you can't spoil them much with a microwave (i.e., frozen vegetables). My wife and I bought one of those FlavorWave™ oven thingamajigs, and found it works surprisingly well. In 30 minutes it fully cooked two frozen tuna medallions (about an inch wide). Just added salt and nomed them. Of course, it requires more cleaning than a microwave, so it might not count as fast food.

I have chips once a week (fried potatoes, not crisps) and they're generally healthy - they're still mostly potato inside, and I avoid the crispy/fatty bits. Then there's pizza, which is generally quite healthy with sensible toppings. Even eating chocolate is relatively healthy if you enjoy yourself rather than feeling guilty and reducing your lifespan with stress hormones. I don't own a microwave, so I don't have to worry about the quality of things it cooks. Even when I have used one it's only to cook jacket potatoes - for which it does a good job - or to re-heat stuff.

A microwave is lousy for cooking, but as you say, it's a very efficient reheater. And potato maker. And spark maker if you feel playful.

And marshmallow expander. I used to watch them expand and pop at the base, folding in on themselves, when I was young. http://loadingreadyrun.com/videos/view/312/fun_with_microwaves
