A friend of mine made it, as he learned to do it in Italy. He gave us a bottle. It's awful, I don't know how to tell him LOL.

No, it sounds like it could just be a bad bottle though.

Bad drinks are easy to make. TheLevellers will attest to this :P

I know what I did bad though, Limoncello's meant to be drank in a tiny glass cup, filled to one finger tall. I drank three times that.

LOL! Melchior made some homebrew mead in our first year at uni... It was drinkable, so long as you added about half a glass of sugar to it... Never was quite sure if it was drunkeness or a sugar rush after that... :)

Oh, and Limoncello sounds interesting, I hope it was/is a bad bottle and that good stuff is, erm, good... :)

Sugar rush, it happens. You kinda see the world on perpetual instant replay.

And also, this year's brew was apple wine. It wasn't particularly bad tasting, just stupidly strong - probably around the 15% mark. After the first glass I forgot all about the taste and the fact that it's essentially half strength vodka. A few more glasses, cue being sick in TheLevellers house. Sorry!

There are a few Mexican homebrew alcoholic beverages, but the only one I like is Tepache. It has just a hint of alcohol, so it's more of a refreshing drink than booze. And it's cheap as hell, just pineapple peelings, raw sugar, cinnamon and white cloves fermented for a couple of days.

A good recipe is here: http://recipes.epicurean.com/recipe/10300/tepache.html And this page has a picture with the proper way of serving it: http://www.encuentrocontuangel.com/recetas/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=76:tepache&catid=42:bebidas

@Melchior: Heh, you got it down the toilet or on the roof, so water cleaned it all for me! :P
