Well, they sent people to the moon with less computing power than that of one of those music-playing postcards.

technology does have that tendency to move forward. remember the day you got your first color cell phone? that was almost as expensive as buying an iphone. iphones will be for kids in 10 years and hopefully we'll be on to teleportation cellular technology. maybe even a teleporting toaster oven.

@TheLadiesMan: It wasn't that long ago that I got my first color cell phone actually. I stuck to an old black and white one because I didn't need more out of it.

True. My PDA alone has more computing power than the entire computer room I used first. Those were about 12 8086 PCs running at 4/8 Mhz, each with 256 Kb of RAM

It's freaky to think of it now.

Later they were upgraded to 640 Kb RAM (Technically 1Mb overall). My PDA has 128 Mb.

"I'm going to learn Ubuntu". Never before I've heard the word pronounced, here it sounds like Uboontu.

Wikipedia says it's pronounced differently in the original Zulu... The basic alphabet is pronounced differently in different languages, so it's not surprising that people pretty much just make up their own way of saying it - but I suppose we should all learn to say it the Zulu way (whatever that is).

Hmm, maybe that's just the Zulu spelling they have there... I think oo-boon-too is correct, but English people say it consistently wrong. (-: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=10216&highlight=pronouce+ubuntu
