OpinionThe poor economy that Obama claims he inherited, was inherited from the Democrats in Congress who took control in 2006 and started pushing liberal agenda such as the minimum wage bill, not from George Bush.

Everyone told the Democrats that the minimum wage bill would cost jobs. Now we are looking at 10% unemployment, told ya so.

The economic trouble doesn't come from the rise of minimum wage. It comes from shoddy credit schemes and get rich off someone else. Our current banking system is a bunch of mirrors hiding where the true money is. Anyways a truly capitalistic society should be used to a couple bangs and busts.

Nah, Bush is as guilty if he didn't have the vision and leadership to straighten things before they got worse. Spend your savings, go and buy stuff? That was the most moronic official statement to solve the already looming recession, it was like hearing Hugo Chavez in English.

There's no recession whatsoever, let's continue waging war while Haliburton charges premium for it.

Recession has a definition: two sequential quarters of negative growth. We did not have two sequential quarters of negative growth until late in the Bush administration.

@Baslisks: Shoddy credit schemes like forcing banks to make loans to people that they know cannot make the payments. That is governments fault for getting involved in the mortgage business. They should have stayed out of it.

I said "looming recession". It was hovering all over USA like a cloud storm and it was simply ignored. And purposely inherited to the Obama administration. There were ways to stop or dampen it, but the Bush administration knew there was no way he'll get another term, so it didn't care.

Inheriting a economic crisis is a common practice of exiting governments. Drain the state arcs so the next on doesn't look so good. The old one prospers while the new one has limited resources to maneuver.

This is a perfect place to refer to my recent comment in another thread about Ayn Rand's book Atlas Shrugged. When the Capitalists in this country (USA) saw that Obama was likely to win the election, they started to hold or shrink their plans for growth or expansion. This will not change until he is out of office and someone friendlier to business is in.

I just lost my apartment, my cats, and all the furniture too big for me to move because of my pathetic salary, so any "liberal agenda" that gives me more money is really okay by me.

Why do you expect anyone to "give" you something? To "give" you something, the government has to take it away from someone else by force. Someone else that has a family to look after and support. Does that make you feel better? How is that Democrat Congress working out for you now? One of the largest reasons of unemployment now is the minimum wage increases of the current Democrat government. I am sorry for your loss. Hopefully things will turn around for you.

She's doing better, according to FaceBook. I heard she also finds the time to work at a Farm.
