PollAre we (the USA) headed in the right direction with Barack Obama and the Democrats in charge of Congress?

Absolutely - it's a big step up from the previous administration. At least Obama actually uses reason in his decision making. The US narrowly avoided continuing to be the laughing stock of the world by rejecting McCain/Palin. http://www.daylightatheism.org/2009/05/the-founders-wept.html

I think it would of made an awesome reality show, I would call it McPalin. We'd put up secret cameras in the white house and watch the crazy antics of our newest presidents.

It was funny how it was frequently mentioned that McCain could die and leave Palin as Mrs. President. That was unfair, older presidents have done well (for themselves).

@LeeJ: I tried to read the essay to which you linked, it starts off wrong in the first paragraph; I knew it would be downhill from there. Anyone who states that the 9/11 attack had anything to do with GW Bush's policies is just plain wrong. I guess you believe the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993 was because of Bush too. Obama used no reason in his decision to close Quantonimo; that decision was based on politics and appeasement only. The only decision that he has made based on reason that I know of is to not release the additional images from Abu Graib.

Not many votes. You people must be disappointed with your government.

It looks like Obama's doing a good job. Rome wasn't made in a four-year term, you know. If Obama had obliterated all the corrupted elite businesses with a real, no-holds-barred change, he would be dead by now. Gibe it time.

@DigitalBoss: The point of the link wasn't to highlight poor foreign policy - clearly the bulk of the article is about the religious fundamentalism that twisted government policy into a denial of fact in preference to trying to create a new reality. There's no doubt that the Eastern world sees the Western nations as ruled by Christians, even though there are plenty of other religions and atheists in the population. Having religious leaders isn't just bad for government, it's bad for a country's image.

We're headed in the right direction, but we haven't gone far enough. If only Kucinich was sexier, maybe he could've got elected. He should have just put his wife up for the running and done a bit of a ventriloquist act with her.

I'm sure he'd love to do that, what bloke doesn't want their hand there?! (Sorry.) All I can say is I feel far more relaxed about imminent nuclear war now Obama's behind the wheel!
