The problem I see with the site is that it isn't obvious what the point of it is until watching the video... maybe it's just me. Even if you go and look at something on there, it would seem at first glance that it only applies to ideas that other visitors to the site would recognise, e.g. New York City. In reality, it seems you can discuss something relatively private and invite a group of people you know to make suggestions... but then you'd just confuse other visitors to the site.

I thought it was quite intuitive myself. Discussing and improving ideas seems like a good basis for a site. Its not as philosophical as it is here, its more of a utilitarian approach. I would come here to talk about god but I would go there to try and build a multi-lane road.

It's nice to see that you haven't logged any things that need improving (yet).

I added tags, which is nothing we haven't said here. I just wish we had more people here. I'm being tricky on two fronts.

Oh, well look at discussionator.exofire.net/add_topic.html for minor progress there.

I want to create a project for "Earning a living without working".

@BorgClown: yes, now you just have to figure out how to track me down out of the MILLIONS of me!

@Lee J Haywood: what do you mean?

There's tag input there, although it'll be a long while before anything is ready for use here.

just knowing whats in the pipes is cool. Will we be able to tag already posted items?

Well I thinking of just moderating them after topic creation, so as to maintain consistency and not have too many redundant tags, etc. In theory there will be a pool of common tags working as categories, and it'll be best to select from them, but most topics don't need their tags to change after the initial creation/moderation.

Yeah, but I was wondering if you could go back and tag the archive.

Well it will certainly need doing. I imagine I'll go through and do it all myself once the ability exists, since I'll be able to easily track which ones are done and which need doing.

I love the idea of thebetterproject, will be cool to see how it works out for real... Could any real changes happen with any large companies if enough people have workable ideas I wonder?

I do think it's only truly useful for quite large projects, but way to easy to ignore - it's not like they have the clout that, say, a petition might have. On the other hand, it's really difficult to contact big organisations and let them know your opinions about stuff they ought to be interested in, so I guess the only question is... if they actually acted based on this, would there be any feedback? If not, I cannot see people remaining interested.

I wanted to make a survey about tagged surveys, and tag it as 'survey'. Fortunately I regained my senses.
