OpinionI am completely unaware of the real world and its consequences. I am blind as a bat when it comes to navigating anything beyond my schools convoluted systems.

I am too much the sheltered little homeboy. I need to get out there and thrash about in the deep end for a few hours before I come back into my comfort zone.

I don't know what this means - is it a survey to see who had public education and who was schooled at home? I think that it's important to recognise that almost everyone has some insecurities, although comfort zones do seem inevitable in the modern world.

its an opinion. I am very open to allowing interpretation of ideas.

I am quite well aware of the real world, as I have been since I moved out of my parents to live with my sister, and then on my own, so I could study engineering in Britain... I know feel that I couldn't deal with living with my parents again, even if it saved me money that I really needed, I would rather struggle a lot (up to a point!) and have my own space. That's roughly my interpretation :)

I think my need off space is really driving me. I have no real privacy here.

There are always likely to be some things that you haven't experienced or had to deal with yet. So your comfort zone becomes sticking to things you've done before, and going to places you already know. If you join a social group you may end up going places you've never been before, and if you're (un)lucky you can experience things like marriage and parenthood for the first time by going through the process.

meh, already have a girlfriend who is about as crazy as I am sometimes more or less. I would be happy to spawn with her. I just need to go out there and do things I'm afraid of doing.

The only thing I can contribute is this: If you're afraid of something, do something worse. Afraid of heights? Gather the courage to make an epic (for you) parachute jump. Nothing will be the same. OK, real-life stuff is not as drastic, so improvement will be gradually acquired. Just dare to do the things you fear most, like actually duking it out with a real-world uncomfortable situation. Think of it as incrementing your RPG stats.
