OpinionI think music is an important part of life. I am depressed without a steady stream of sonic synergistic. Only way I cna get high on life.

I think I agree, anyway... ;) Music is just awesome... I don't have words at the moment, as I just got home to find FOUR new albums waiting for me, and I'm now bouncing off the walls with joy as they're all proving to be great! :D

Oh god, music keeps me awake at work. My sleep schedule is a mess since I've been waking up so early for work. Speaking of such, I should try to get some sleep instead of surfing.

I struggle with music these days, partly because I have too much of it, partly because I avoid having it loud due to the neighbours and partly because I avoid wearing earphones following a bad experience with wax impacting on my eardrum. I never 'just' listen to music now... it used to be I'd be able to lie on the bed and mellow out, but now I'd find that boring and only have background music whilst sitting at my desk or driving in my car.

You need to get some new music that challenges your ideas, convictions, and in generally is interesting. Being a metal head does that to you.

Ok, I'm a little calmer now... Music is great! I am currently enjoying The String Quartet Tributes to various artists (Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, Offspring...), it's ideal for background music - I wanna listen to offspring and read/discuss interesting things (I've lost the ability to phase the lyrics out overtime, oddly), I can! I intend to 'get into' some classical stuff, but it's hard to start there, as there's so much :s Any tips?!

P.S. I just said sometheng that surprised me to a housemate... I think that I would possibly have to leave someone who didn't appreciate music enough, even if they were otherwise perfect... I love sharing music, and my musically associated memories become intertwined with my girlfriend (much to my annoyance!), and it's all part of the experience for me. I might well prove myself wrong someday, but until then, I'll stick to my guns!!

I can't date someone who doesn't play an instrument. It just doesn't click. It just requires some basic musical feeling to get what I sometimes try and express. I spend more time playing music than I do writing or talking.

Sounds familiar, though for me actual instrument playing isn't essential, just a bonus. As long as they appreciate music to a high degree it's good enough for me!

Music doesn't, by itself really do it for me. It's more God, actually.
