It might look like an obvious statement, until one realizes that that rive for seeking protection is deeper than we think. We need shelter, a safe place to sleep, a community to join forces, a few friends we can count on, a significant other with whom we can open up and be vulnerable, etc. Even people who do dangerous stunts for fun find pleasure knowing that they can survive danger. It seems like everything we do is geared toward survival.

What is this opinion about? We already know that we and other animals have needs, and prioritise them according to our current circumstances. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maslow%27s_hierarchy_of_needs

I had an idea listening to a French song, and thought it a while before posting it. It turned out that the idea could be reduced to seeking safety, and ultimately to survival. Tried to post a general and simple opinion, but I quashed it's potential for discussion.
