QuestionWhat is the incentive for climbing up the ladder of Discussionator and having more points than other members? By having a certain number of points should be rewarded perhaps by having music played on your page.

You're welcome to send me cash. It would pay towards my hosting fees. St Ethan said during the development that he'd organise prizes based on points, but given that he didn't even bother to join the site it's clear that he was full of hot air. Perhaps the answer is to go out and find other people to join the site, then you can try to stay ahead of them in points...

I wanted to have an animated GIF for an avatar, and I suggested such prize for each multiple of 5K points you reached. Reaching 5K points is hard.

Even if there were draconian standards on the GIF characteristics, it would be fun to look forward to it, and meanwhile design your own animated avatar.

Although this would be okay on a site with a significant number of users, having it here - now - would be a terrible distraction for visitors (potential new users), making the site look silly. I suppose it could be made to only display where the viewer had a certain number of points as well, but that's messy.

That's what I meant by draconian standards. In KOL, for example, the animated avatars have to be monochrome, contain only a few frames of discrete animation, meet a certain dimension and size, and even then it's subject to moderation. Talk about draconian.
