Not really - they evolved for animals to spread seeds, but wild fruits aren't generally very tasty. They have nutritional value, but it's only by domestication that we've ended up with the sweeter, more palatable varieties.

You have it backwards - we're the fools, as we're doing the plant's bidding. Take tobacco - in the wild, it would struggle for survival and face many diseases, changes in its environment and damage by pests. But once it managed to domesticate humans, we provide it with land to grow, pesticides to keep it happy and even have advanced ways to protect it from disease. It manipulates our brains to achieve this, and does so successfully - just like strawberries.
