Makes it easier to keep different threads (under different topics) alive.

You're killing a puppy every time you fail to use the Discussionator topic type. )-:

You only have to use the topic filter to select which types of topics to see. The site activity panel always shows everything, and the watch list only shows things you've commented on before. (And they're types of topics, not types of opinions).

Oi, this was a Discussionator topic type. And regarding the different feeds, you could open Discussionator in several tabs, and filter each one separately. But I think it's better to try the site for a week before trying to change it. that is, unless you find out some bug.

The discussionator topic doesn't have the agree/disagree thingies.

What's the "Marks" link on the left doing there?

@Korinthian: You're right, if you need the voting. but I suppose only the "Discussionator>/>" topic type will be reviewed by the admin for possible improvements.

@Korinthian: The Marks are the result of using the Abuse link to mark bad topics. It is like flagging on steroids.

They had interesting / boring / don't care voting before, but they became superfluous when the ratings were introduced. If something's a good idea, just give it a high rating. State your opinion and get a consensus.

The 'rule' should be that the Discussionator type is used for *all* site-specific topics, even if you're just saying that you like/dislike another user, etc. - allowing them to be filtered from the topics list. But whether or not I retroactively move site-specific topics into the correct category is yet to be decided.

Maybe have a 'sort by type' button.
On 2008-09-03 at 22:58:00, Lee J Haywood wrote...
That's not going to happen. The topic filter already lets you go through one type at a time, and you can mark each type as read independently.

Ah, you're right - it's midnight already. You can take over. See you tomorrow, hopefully... I'm not around at the weekend, BTW - got a wedding to attend Friday to Sunday.

It's on Saturday, but because of the grandparents we have to stay the night before and come back the day after the wedding - so 2 nights.

I hope it's not your wedding. You are now bound to attend DNr for all eternity.
